The Chief set the stage for the sweep by stepping into an ugly game, drawing a line in the basepath, and saying to Da Cubs, "This far and no further!" Fonzie picked up in the second game by showing that a true leadoff hitter leads by example. His campaign consultants constantly urged caution at third base, but like his hero Jesse Ventura Fonzie said, "To hell with that, better to make 'em throw me out at home than get stranded at third." To which thousands of fans and Frank said, "About time." Game three was all about Pedro Armas, whose carefully scripted and highly disciplined campaign allowed only three baserunners in seven innings. Armas didn't say anything; he didn't have to. Sunday was like watching the 2005 Nationals, the ones who could pitch, except with a week's worth of runs thrown in for good measure.

The weekend primaries shook up the season race considerably, with Fonzie retaking sole possession of first place, the Chief moving away from the pack, and Pedro Armas jumping into fifth place.

Delegate Count: Soriano 7, Riker 6, Zimmerman 6, Chief 4, Pedro Armas 3, Schneider 2, Patterson 2, O'Connor 2, Ramono 2, Livo 2, Vidro 1, Church 1, Barbarian 1, RC 1. Released: 3

I'm glad Armas is finally showing why he deserves to be a member of the ballclub-- even if he isn't quite getting the recognition his recent work merits. Yay for Ballwonk and some good choices for ML! Doesn't it feel great to complete a sweep at home?
