The Nationals announced this morning that Six-Three will undergo season-ending surgery. The team's senior orthopedic consultant, Dr. Tim Kremchek, will perform the surgery Monday. In Cincinnati.

Because, you know, everyone connected with Cincinnati is just so good for the Nationals. And the team's doctors do such a terrific job keeping the players healthy and in good playing condition.

Early reports are that Dr. Kremchek will attempt to surgically extract $4.2 million from Guzman's shoulder.

It continues to be my daily MO: First click the "BG" link for Batgirl's Twins musings, then right next to it for "BW"...only BW is missing. Dang. Hope all is well.

Maybe when he wrote his last headline, "See You In '07," he meant it??

(slow hand claps) Ball-wonk! Ball-wonk!

I moved to my beloved Holland.

Funny how this board seems to have become the "Please come back, Ball-Wonk!" thread. Does anybody know his real name or address? It would be reassuring if somebody could contact his family to know if he is alright...

Unclear if BW feels internal conflict when the Nationals play the Brewers, of course.

Well, if BW can't post just yet, I hope he's enjoying the Nats victories! I think the Nats are going to have to make a serious offer to Fonzie to keep him for a couple of years. They might not be able to do it, but I think they will have to make the attempt. This is something they will have to do sooner or later. Even if they succeed in rebuilding the farm system, it will do them no good if their talent is unwilling to sign long-term contracts. Then we will be in the same position the old Expos were in. If all the talent that came up through their system actually STAYED in Montréal, not only would their team have stayed put, but they would have been the premiere team to beat in the NL East---not the Braves.

We can't outbid Steinbrenner one on one, but if we show we are willing to spend money and spend money WISELY, we can keep talent that will bring fans to the ballpark for many years to come.

Yeah, as Eddie says, just tell us that you're allright! Your recent string of bad luck and your silence keeps us worried!

Ball Wonk, I'm one of the many that regularly reads your daily blog, and your absence has me worried. Please post something the next time you get the chance!

So... Now... This is a bit embarassing... But do we have to assume that Mr. Ballwonk and Guzman are one and the same? God! No! Please! Ever since that the Exp(r)os left town and that I left my girlfriend for Boston, Ballwonk, you are my only happy link to baseball. Are you ready to have a baseball kill on your conscience???

Dear Mr. Wonk,

A week without you is like a week without sunshine.

Seasonal Affectively Yours,
Batgirl

BW! Where are you? I've been reduced to reading the Nats fan forum and it is far less witty than you are.

BW, where art thou?

Surgery went well.

BW, I run a Nationals Fansite on myspace.com. I blog on it and I was wondering if you could check it out and add it to your blog list. Or if you just want to take my word for it and just put up the link...you can do that too.

The link is www.myspace.com/nationals
